For three generations; my father, and before him my grandfather, have been making our own tackle and lures, specially tailored from our own personal experience on the unique and sometimes challenging, Great Lakes of Michigan and all the rivers, ponds, creeks and waterways in and around the Detroit River and Lake Erie. My father not only instilled a skill for fishing and tackle but his interpersonal sales skills. In this modern day, fishing has become a long needed escape from fast-rush stress of life, a means of support in many cases and a divine meal as well as an age-defying hobby for everyone to enjoy!

Perhaps you've stumbled across 'Fisherman Joe' along the riverbank downriver (anywhere between Detroit and Gibralter down Jefferson) or at the fleamarkets in Romulus or on Vernor in Detroit, at some point between 1960-2010. Or his father before that and up to the 80's. Perhaps you have purchased a few sinkers or lures, directly at fleamarkets, or one of the tackle shops that no longer exist along Jefferson that carried Adam Lure Baits.
Unfortunately, they are both now gone. And it dawned on me one day, while fishing close to dusk and quickly assembling my rig for perch by the slowly fading daylight, Hey, I'm pretty good at this. The information was already inside me, the experience coupled with skills that came naturally without even thinking about it. I started making a few for my friends and fishing buddys. And born was Big Daddy's Lure Baits....!
